Tulips, Dikes & E-Bikes Reservation
Rich and I took this trip in April 2023, and it was one of our best vacations ever! Here is a pic of the single bed. Strange man pictured is not included. Rooms are cozy and efficient, because after all, you're on a boat.
Feel fully alive as you ride your e-bike past the Holland tulips in 2025! It's reminiscent of childhood, riding around so freely on your bike. The bike paths in the Holland farmland are 10-12 feet wide and extremely easy to ride upon. You will learn about Dutch culture, from wooden shoes to windmills and the Dutch obsession with digging canals and creating dikes. It is fascinating. From the Dutch history quotes: Here's a lake, let's dig lots of canals, build up the earth into dry land, and make it into a city. LOL
Our Mindful Adventure is about soaking in the beauty of the flowers, food and culture of Holland. Our accommodations are private rooms with private bathrooms on a beautiful boat. Every morning, after chef makes us breakfast on the boat, we will be guided on a bike tour of the farmlands - seeing windmills, tulips, and lots of cows and sheep. then we return to the boat after lunch, and it is at a new dock where we will roam around town and have dinner back on the boat, prepared by chef again. After dinner are evening strolls learning about the area with our guide. Absolutely delightful! And you get to travel on a chartered boat with new friends and old from the Red Barn and Best Buds Community. April 17-24, 2025. Space is limited. $2,900 includes all tours, e-bike, helmet, accommodations and meals, excludes airfare. $1,300 additional for a single room. We do have space for a female roommate for one traveler!
We will board the barge in Amsterdam on Thursday afternoon, 4/17/2025 and then we will spend a week exploring Holland by e-bike from various docks. Every room is a double room with a private bath. Space is tight, but comfortable. Our bike rides are guided by an English speaking guide who will take us on bike paths through the countryside, providing lots of interesting stops. Our boat is attended by a captain, our tour guide, a chef and possibly another individual as back-up. We disembark on Thursday morning, 4/24/25, again at the dock in Amsterdam. There is an excellent train system from the Amsterdam International Airport which takes you to the center of Amsterdam and the dock is walking distance from there. If you are a very experienced cyclist, you may request a 24 speed bike in lieu of an e-bike.

In order to reserve a chartered boat, payment is due May 10th of 2024, so payment for the trip will need to be done as soon as possible. Cost of the trip is $2,900, which is due within 5 days of your reservation. This price includes a cash/check discount, and if paying by credit card, there is an additional charge of $75. Your reservation is made by paying $10 on this item and then Joanie will contact you to arrange full payment.
